Settimo Vittone village

Today Settimo Vittone is within easy reach via National Highway A5 (Turin-Aosta, Quincinetto exit), National Road SS26 (Chivasso-Aosta), Provincial Road n° 72 (Settimo Vittone – Nomaglio) and the Chivasso-Aosta railway (Borgofranco d’Ivrea station).

 As in the Middle Ages, Settimo Vittone and, in particular, its Castle with the 9th century Baptistery are one of the fundamental stops on the historical Francigena way: this was the itinerary covered by pilgrims from northern Europe to reach Rome and other holy sites of Christianity.
