The history of the Castle and the pretty Ansgarda

(story passage from the historical recalling of the Settimo Vittone carnival)

“Attone Ascario was the commander of the Marca d’Ivrea’s troops. Noble cadet with french origin, put himself into the service of Guido da Spoleto. From him he obtain the command of the troops of Ivrea and with them he blocked, at Bard, the soldier of the “sacred Roman Empire”, comes down in Italy to disposses Guido da Spoleto from the trhone of the king of Italy. The sister of Attone married Ludovico the Balbo. For dynastic’s reasons Ansgarda was repudiated by her husband and forced to live in a convent in Normandy. Already ill, she asked her brother, the only relative in life, if she can be guested at Settimo Vittone, her land, for the last years of her life.
