Positionated on a spur of
a solid rock and hold wall, there is the complex of the castle,
constituted by different building of different historical collocation. Near the
castle there are a parish church an a baptistery. All the complex take the name
“the castle”; this is the way which the inhabitants of Settimo Vittone always
called the zone. A building of the XVIII century, over hanging the town, it’s
call “The new castle” all today, on the facade we can see the Napoleonic’s
colors (white and blue). The building of IX century, which a part of the tower
collapsed (in the pass visible to everybody) it’s the real castle of Settimo
Vittone. The story wanted that lived here, for the last days of her life, the
beautiful Ansgarda wife repudiated of the
king of France. Besides the castle there are the baptistery of the IX century and
the parish church of S. Lorenzo (XIII century).
